About Rebekah

Rebekah Mundell’s dream of becoming Miss Rodeo Washington has come true, and she is ecstatic to share her life experiences while also learning about others' experiences. Growing up, rodeo was always a foundation that helped Rebekah navigate numerous challenges. It taught her compassion, determination to never give up regardless of the outcome, and grit—qualities she believes are best learned through life's experiences.

As a woman deeply rooted in agriculture and the western way of life, Rebekah finds immense beauty in the connections it fosters with the earth, animals, family, God, and people. This interconnectedness is what she believes makes rodeo so special. She is thrilled to be an ambassador for the sport, representing the state of Washington, and hopes to inspire others to pursue their dreams, no matter how difficult the journey. Her goal is to bring joy and positivity to those around her, just as the sport of rodeo has done for her.  Rebekah grew up on a small family farm in rural Kingston, Washington, alongside her parents, Alan and Lhea Mundell and four siblings. Despite facing numerous challenges and being told by doctors that there were many things she would never be able to do—riding being one of them—Rebekah never gave up on her passion. She seeks to inspire the younger generation to persevere in the face of adversity and follow their dreams. One verse that has always resonated with her is, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." As Miss Rodeo Washington 2025, Rebekah strives to embody all the core values of rodeo: commitment, integrity, morals, compassion, faith, and essential life skills. She aims to represent these qualities with grace and elegance throughout her reign.

Rebekah’s resilience was tested early in life. While still in the womb, her twin passed away, resulting in her being born with Aplasia Cutis Congenita—a condition that left her without patches of skin and bone on her abdomen and head. She underwent numerous surgeries at Seattle Children’s Hospital and also experienced several back fractures during her first 16 years. Despite these challenges, Rebekah was determined not to let adversity negatively affect her.

Her motivation to pursue her life goals led her to travel the world and meet people from culturally diverse backgrounds. After high school, she successfully applied for a scholarship in Nagasaki, Japan, where she lived, studied, and learned to speak Japanese. Rebekah completed a Fashion Merchandising and Associate of Arts Degree from Olympic College in Bremerton, WA and graduated from Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business, specializing in Ag Systems and Marketing. During her time at WWCC, she balanced a rigorous academic schedule while participating on the rodeo team, serving as the 2024 Ellensburg Rodeo Queen, and working as a licensed beautician.

All of these accomplishments would not have been possible without the love and support of her family, who provided her with the opportunity to grow up on a small farm surrounded by various animals that came to hold a special place in her heart. Rebekah's journey is a testament to her unwavering determination, hard work, and the strong foundation that has supported her every step of the way.
